H. P. Dental College,
Shimla organised XI National Conference of Indian
Association of Public Health Dentistry AND 9th
H.P. State Dental Conference from 8-10th
December, 2006 at H P Institute of Public Administration,
Fairlawns, Shimla. Participants from different states of
India, Dental Colleges attended the
programme besides those from Himachal Pradesh.

At H.P. Institute of Public Administration,
Sustainable Ecology & Environment Development Society
(SEEDS INDIA) organised a One day Regional workshop on 8th
December, 2006 for Functionaries of Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan and
Engineers of Public Works Department. The Seminar
focused the issue of Safe construction practices,
especially construction of Earth quake safe school buildings
under their Project “School Earthquake Safety Initiative.”

A
Highly Technical Two Weeks’ Computer Training Programme for
the Engineers of IPH
Department on STAAD Pro was organised from 11th
to 23rd December, 2006 at HIPA. The programme was
inaugurated by Er. R.N. Sharma, Engineer-in-Chief (IPH)
which is being attended by 30 Engineers including SE’s,
XEN’s, AE’s and Graduate JE’s of IPH Department

The prime objective of the programme is to imbibe
the latest tools and technologies in the IPH
Department with an aim to improve performance of the
department to meet aspirations of the people. The
Resource Persons/Faculties from CAAD Centre Chennai,
Kurukshetra and Delhi delivered lectures and gave
practical training to the participants. |

A One
week Training Programme for the Execution & Operation Staff
of IPH Department on MIS
Software was organised at HIPA from 11th
to 16th December, 2006 which was attended by 30
Officials of IPH Department. After introduction of this
Software upto the Sub Division Level, activities of the
department will not only provide much needed information to
the public but also facilitate regular and focused
monitoring of the working of the department through Intranet
covering monitoring of schemes, water sources, court cases,
personnel, finance, water quality and public grievances.
