Shri Sanjay Gupta, an IAS Officer of batch 1988 who has put in more than 37 years of Indian Administrative Services, since 25th August, 1988 and have served in different capacities in various Departments of the State Government of Himachal Pradesh. Served as Divisional Commissioner Shimla, Deputy Commissioner Lahaul & Spiti, Principal Secretary (Education, Technical Education, Transport & Fisheries), Additional Chief Secretary (Social Justice & Empowerment, Forest), Chairman Pollution Control Board, Chairman Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Ltd., Chairman Himachal Pradesh Ropeway and Rapid Transport Corporation Ltd., Chairman Himachal Pradesh Sales Tax Tribunal, Financial Commissioner (Appeals). Now took over as Chief Secretary to the Government of Himachal Pradesh on 01.10.2025.
